Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I buy masks from 3MD Masks?

3MD Masks has designed reusable masks for use as source control during the COVID-19 pandemic.*  We also offer masks designed for community members to help reduce asymptomatic transmission in infected individuals.

Our masks feature sewn-in washable, reusable, full coverage 100% polyester felt filters that have a viral filtration efficiencies (VFE) significantly higher than a standard two layered cotton mask.  For full details, please see our VFE results: https://3mdmasks.com/pages/mask-efficacy

What's the difference between your masks?

Wearers will notice that our Pro and Floral Masks with 5 Micron Filters have slightly more air resistance than our Community Masks, as they are also designed to have higher viral filtration efficiency (93.6% compared to 81%).  Our Pro Mask comes with the option of elastic straps or durable fabric bias ties that wrap around the head.  Our Floral Mask comes with elastic straps that wrap around the head.  Both have a pliable double wire nose piece for facial conformity.

Our Community Masks and Children's Masks come with a non-micron rated felt filter.  They feature adjustable ear loops for easy wear and removal as well as a pliable nose piece.  The Children's Masks have a single wire nose piece and the Community Masks have a double wire nose piece.

Our adult masks are 7” wide by 3.5” high and unfold to a full height of 6”.
Our children's masks are 5.5” wide by 2.5” high and unfold to a full height of 5”.
